What the New 10% Import Tariff Means for Kearsley—and for You

We want to be transparent with you—because at Kearsley, honesty is part of the fabric of everything we do.

As of this month, the U.S. has implemented a 10% universal import tariff on all goods entering the country. This includes the fabrics we import from Italy, which are essential to the quality and performance of our bedding, towels, and other home textiles.

Why It Matters

We cannot produce these fabrics domestically at the level of excellence we require. The cottons, linens, silks, and cashmeres we use are woven by some of the finest textile artisans in the world—many of whom have been mastering their craft for generations.

These new tariffs are applied on top of the duties we were already paying. The increase is significant—and it affects everything from the base cost of our raw materials to the timeline and pricing of our finished products.

What This Means for Kearsley

We’re a small, independent business with a tight, talented team—cutting, sewing, embroidering, and managing every detail of what we produce. Unlike large corporations, we don’t have endless buffers or offshore shortcuts.

We are raising prices.
Not to increase profit, but to continue paying our team fairly, maintaining our standards, and keeping the doors open without compromise.

A 90-Day Window—With Uncertainty Ahead

Right now, the 10% tariff is in place for 90 days only. After that, it may be lifted—or increased to 20%.

If you’ve been thinking about placing an order, this is the time. Ordering now could mean a meaningful difference in cost, especially on larger projects. We're here to help you navigate the options and secure the best possible timing for your needs.

What Isn’t Changing

  • The integrity of our materials

  • The quality of our craftsmanship

  • The care we put into every order

  • Our commitment to ethical sourcing and timeless design

We’re staying true to what we believe in, even when it costs more to do so.

What You Can Do

  • If you’re planning a project, connect with us now so we can help you navigate the timeline and pricing changes.

  • Ask questions—we’ll answer honestly.

  • And if you’ve supported us in the past, thank you. Your business keeps skilled hands working, and that means everything to us.

We know price increases aren’t fun to hear. But we believe that if you’ve chosen Kearsley, it’s because you value truth, beauty, and quality that doesn’t cut corners.

We’re still here. Still creating. And still committed to doing things the right way.

With gratitude,
